2006 — Volume 2, Number 2

“Almost Bi-Monthly!”

Welcome, one and all… to the FOURTH issue of…

The Nostalgia Zine!

This issue sports the following commentary from our stable of renown:

MIKE TIEFENBACHER wades into the nebulous mess of trying to define different vintages of Comic Books, who makes the rules and why — a can of worms that screams for scrutiny.

MARK CARLSON gives another installment of Comic History in “Hey! That Ain’t Funny!”, again focusing on the years when funny-books were finding their voice.

CHRIS BÜDEL goes sleuthing after reading an indicia one too many times, and finds more mystery and questions.

STEPHEN ITTNER shows us the secret life… of God?!?

Some of you may have noticed recent problems in our online ordering pages. After much hand-wringing, late-night discussion, and a lot of hard work, we’ve switched to a new web host for the Nostalgia Zone, as well as this ongoing concern, the Nostalgia Zine.

To reward patience as well as to bring back business that might've been chased away by the imploding ex-host, we offer the following discounts when placing orders online, now through May 31st:

20 – 33% OFF @ NostalgiaZone.com
— 20% OFF —
ANY comic with an Individual Grade

— 33% OFF —
any “MODERN” comic with a Blanket Grade of
“F to NM”

Orders must be placed using the Nostalgia Zone Website. In order to receive the discount, you must mention “Nostalgia Zine” in one of two places:

1. The space provided for a “Short Description of Order” in our online credit card form.
2. An email sent to order@nostalgiazone.com immediately following your order.

The “Nostalgia Zine” discount does not stack with the EU discount. You may use this discount in as many orders as you wish throughout the month of May.

Offer expires on May 31, 2006.

Dear Bobby,

Remember the other day when you talked me into playing with gasoline-filled tennis balls and we ended up burning down Mr. Nelson’s shed? Well, my mom found out and she says I can’t play with you anymore. Also, she made me help move all of the Son of Nostalgia Zone stuff from all the basements, storage spaces, hiding places, and crypts into a nice, new warehouse! It was days of moving toys, posters, magazines, books, games, and unidentifiable things of all kinds! And now I have to sort through it and put it on our website! There’s stuff that hasn't seen the light of day for 10 years or more. It’s going to take a long time to go through all of it so that’s another reason I can’t see you anymore. Also, you’re kind of a jerk. If you have to reach me, though — like, for instance, to give me back my Jimmy Olson comics you borrowed 3 years ago — you can go to SonOfNostalgiaZone.com where you’ll find me and a bunch of stuff that’s cooler than anything you have or ever will. Plus, go there before May 31, 2006 and enter the code “Major_Matt_Mason” for 20% off anything you order!
